What Christmas Carol are you?

Deck the Halls
You are 'Deck the Halls'! Let's be honest, it
isn't Christmas you are celebrating, is it? In
fact, you know full well that there were no
shepherds in the fields in December, and that
the date of Christmas was put at midwinter
specifically to coincide with the older
celebrations of Yule and the birth of Mithras.
An unashamed Pagan, you take great glee in the
number of carols referring to holly, evergreens
and Winter's end, and will sing them with
gusto. You know where they really came from.
And you do enjoy the seasonal celebrations,
regardless of their name... A merry Yule to
you!

Employment Insurance

I finally received my first payment from EI this week. They paid me up until Dec. 9th, and then told me I was cut off unless I could provide another Dr. Certificate to stay off work. I did and then they said I would be cut off on Dec. 20th. What a run around! And of course all you get is 55% of your pay less income tax.

My surgeon has seen me this week also and is sending me for EMG studies for nerve conduction tests to find out where the damage is to my left hand since this puzzles him, and also sending me for another MRI to find out what might be causing the headache I have on a constant basis.

Don't know how long it will be until I get these appointments yet. They are going to call with the time and place, but at this point I assume it won't be until after the holiday season is over.

Claim Denied by WSIB

My claim for WSIB for the headaches I've been suffering since August due to my neck injury at work has been denied by WSIB. They say they need more proof that the headaches are:

1) Due to my neck injury
2) Totally debilitating.

With the evidence my GP has provided they say I'm able to work.

My next step is to see my Neurology surgeon and have some tests, CT Scan or MRI, to validate my claim. His testimony may help, but physical proof is what they want.

How do you prove a headache much less that the headache is debilitating?

And so goes the system.... Round and round. Like I said, there is nothing in place to protect and serve the injured worker. Employees beware.
