Then when the, and I quote, "worst part of the day" is over 3 more staff come in to work.

Why do they not have a full staff on to do the bulk of the days work? People are having to stand and wait in the hallway outside since there are only 35 chairs, and some of course may eventually pass out after standing over 30-45 minutes waiting their turn with no food in their stomaches.

I don't know about you, but I'm not waiting 45 minutes to an hour for blood work to be done when I haven't even had a coffee yet. My family doctor will just have to open up earlier in the morning and draw the blood himself if this isn't going to change.

Why should I bother since I'm not going to take that statin drug he's going to offer me anyway...

-------
Society has always seemed to demand a little more from human beings than it will get in practice.

The good guys always wore white hats and the bad guys wore black hats. (we had a lot of Western shows on T.V. then).

When we were kids we played outdoors dressed up like Cowboys and Indians and the Cowboys were the good guys and the Indians were the bad guys. This is not politically correct today of course but it did happen. At that time The U.S.A. and Canada along with Western Europe and Great Britain were the Good Guys and the U.S.S.R. were the Bad Guys.

Today... people don't wear white or black hats, Indians are called First Nation people and are given the respect they deserve, the Cold War is over and the U.S.S.R. is no more.

We have "Peace Keeping" missions through the United Nations which I honestly don't understand since they're still at war in most places the U.N. is involved with. We have wars between the U.S.A. and anyone who threatens Homeland Security. This can be interpreted pretty liberally by the U.S.A.

Fear mongering with regard to immunization, terrorism, global warming and other scare tactics may very well lead to Warmongering.

Since the end of the Cold War the U.S.A. has not had a real or visible enemy, until 911. Although they stuck their noses in several places many believe it didn't belong. Now there is a constant threat of Terrorism within the borders of the U.S.A. for the first time in many years. Why is this happening now? Who's to blame for Terrorist attacks on the U.S.A.? Is this something brought on by the U.S.A. trying to dominate the world peacefully? What is the truth behind the Iraq war(s)? Where are the weapons of mass destruction? Was this all just about oil and power?

It has become, in my opinion, much more difficult to distinguish the Good Guys from the Bad Guys today.

Will the good guys please stand up.
Society has always seemed to demand a little more from human beings than it will get in practice.

I needed a humidifier for our boy who gets frequent nose bleeds and higher humidity helps. It's also necessary for hardwood flooring so it doesn't crack in winter.

I chose this unit for it's quiet running so as not to disturb your sleep or T.V. viewing.

On the downside it blows 'white dust' that settles, no sticks to all electronic components like T.V.'s, computers, DVD players etc. It's not easy to dust off, you need to get a wet cloth and rub it off.

The first unit I took home I returned as it was heating up and corroding inside in the first few weeks. The store manager said they don't get hot so I returned it and received a new one.

I took that one home with new filters and still had a carpet of dust on my electronics that I had to wipe off daily.

I wrote an email to Bionaire requesting information as to whether this dust was harmful to my electronic components, since it was all over the outside I could only imagine what the inside looked like. I received no reply after two attempts at getting information.

What is listed on Bionaire's site is that Water Purification Cartridge Helps Eliminate White Dust. I found it reduced it very little. Not enough at any rate, but I still don't know if it's damaging my T.V. or my computers.

Does anyone out there know if this dust is harmful to your electronics? I'd like to know...
Society has always seemed to demand a little more from human beings than it will get in practice.

When the phone makes several beeping noises it's time to hang up.

When you get "ads" enclosed with your phone or utility bill, return these "ads" with your payment. Let the sending companies throw their own junk mail away.

When you get a pre-approved credit card application with a postage paid return envelope, return the application not filled out in the envelope and mail it back. Hey, why not add some junk mail in there too?

Thank you, they're some great ideas.
Society has always seemed to demand a little more from human beings than it will get in practice.

I was also Catholic at that time having been raised in a somewhat Catholic home and going to a Catholic school. Doing good deeds was something that was encouraged and expected to a great extent. I don't know if it was being Catholic or being a cub scout, but good deeds were a part of life.

Today I'm no longer scout nor Catholic. I follow my own path of Eclectic Wicca. But good deeds are still a part of life for me. Whether it's making a favourite dish, letting someone back out of their parking spot without cutting them off, cleaning up the house or buying my wife a bag a chips it's still a good deed.

I don't know if it's just me but after being around for over 50 years I sort of think that the world has become more selfish and self centred. Impatience, greed and a general lack of concern for anyone but the self is prevalent from where I stand.

My theory is that it's a parenting problem. Yes I said parenting problem! Obviously this problem didn't just happen yesterday but has been growing for one or two generations.

I am not a psychiatrist or even a psychologist, but I have spent over 20 years working in the health care field and for the most part in psychiatry watching and observing. My conclusion is that we are all born into this world as little helpless babies, who are fighting for life with every breath. So naturally we're a little selfish and self centred by nature. But as we grow and become more and more self sufficient we should become less selfish and self centred. But we don't... that's up to our parents to teach us.

If we don't teach our children to share, be polite, be courteous, be generous then they grow up to be little personality disorders that commit road rage, vandalism, swarming, bullying and the list goes on. As adults they can become serial killers, domestic violent abusers, your daughters boyfriend or your sons wife. Think about what you're doing to the next generation before you let your kids raise each other. It's not their job, it's yours. Lead by example and maybe it won't be too late.

Your challenge if you choose to accept it, is to do a good deed today. Show someone you care more than just for yourself. "Pay it forward" was a good example of what I'm talking about. Maybe you should watch this movie too.
----------------------
Society has always seemed to demand a little more from human beings than it will get in practice.

This is an excerpt from his reply.

As of Dec. 2007 Bell Canada Inc. has been awarded a contract to put together a national “do not call” list. The company was the only bidder that was compliant with the requirements of the Request for Proposal. Bell Canada will be responsible for registering numbers, providing telemarketers with up-to-date versions of the list, and receiving consumer complaints about telemarketing calls. I

In addition, Bell Canada will operate the “do not call list” using the fees that telemarketers will pay to subscribe to the list. The contract stipulates that the list should be launched by September 30, 2008. If you wish to be added to this list feel free to sign up at Bell Canada’s website “http://www.bell.ca/enterprise/EntPrd_Vce_DoNotCall” or by contacting BELL directly at 310-BELL (2355).

Unfortunately the link to Bell doesn't work. Perhaps one day it will.

-------------------------
Society has always seemed to demand a little more from human beings than it will get in practice.

I was shocked since we don't ever use half of the bandwidth we're allowed in a month. (We could use more traffic here folks!) I sent off an email to our host and found out that the culprit is MSNBOT spidering or crawling our site. Now normally this is a good thing. Robots as they're called crawl your site going from link to link indexing what you have and putting you up on their search engines for all to find. BUT, and it's a big but, when they use 12.46 GB at a visit it puts you way over your bandwidth and shuts you down until your month is up and you get your new allowance.

My hosting company was sympathetic when he let me know the problem and generously gave us extra bandwidth for the month and promptly blocked MSNBOT from coming back anytime soon.

MSN, can you not run your bots with less bandwidth munching?
I compared this to Google for the same day and Google used 53 MB compared to MSN using 12.46 GB A huge difference.
.................
Society has always seemed to demand a little more from human beings than it will get in practice.

He was loved by many and will be missed deeply.

On October 14th, Canadian snowboarding lost one of its most colourful characters. Scott Shewchuk, well known to anyone who’s entered or attended a major contest in the last 15 years, passed away at his home in Oakville, ON. Known not only for being the most friendly face at every contest—from the early days of the Snowboard Canada Jam Tour to the current World Ski and Snowboard Festival—it was guaranteed that one of the first people you’d see (or hear) on site was Scott Shewchuk. It was this fun-loving personality that garnered him the huge number of friends he made in his short life. He will be sorely and forever missed. A Facebook group page has been created to share stories, photos and videos of Scott at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=7731586787 and the Scott Shewchuk Celebration of Life is this Sunday, starting at 1 p.m. at The Firehall in Oakville, ON. All they need is to see your bills and take down the account number and viola you're hooked. They process you just like you didn't want. Then you're stuck paying their higher rates while your neighbours are still paying the old rate.

I ask you one thing... if they're saving me money by selling me their service at a higher price than I'm paying now and their making money doing this, then how is that saving me money? Sure, they try to scare you by saying that prices are going to sky rocket over two years and you'll be paying much higher rates than if you sign up now with their company at almost double what you're paying now. I don't know what the rates are going to be in two years and neither do they. I think they're just out to make money off of fear mongering.

Fear mongering is a national pastime these days. Everyone is doing it and it works. Fear of the unknown is what they're selling and people are buying it up like the latest religion.

If it sounds fishy or too good to be true... it probably is!

-------------------------------------------
Society has always seemed to demand a little more from human beings than it will get in practice.

Our kids were in bed (it was almost 9pm) and Carline and I were trying to watch television before turning in for the night. They were louder than ever as they had the back door open and the music was just thumping in our house along with the lifeguard whistle and the shouting. We couldn't hear a thing from our T.V. They had all of their fitness clients running circles around their building and turned the music up louder so they could hear it as they ran. Of course they're trying to run a business, but it's this man's opinion that you have to be considerate of your neighbours too. But alas they could care less if they were disturbing four families outside their doors.

I shouted from my back yard asking them to at least close their door but they just ignored me. So, anger getting the better of me, I walked over and shut it myself, much to their dislike. A shouting match followed which almost led to a physical confrontation. In the end they finally closed the doors but I doubt we've heard the last from them.

I have heard that Greco preaches consideration and respect to their younger students and I admire this from teachers, but I think one should practice what you preach or it's meaningless posturing.

------------------------

Society has always seemed to demand a little more from human beings than it will get in practice.

Very low on the acidic level so it has little bite.

I roast in an iRoast2 coffee roaster at a temp of 450 F. for 5 minutes in the first stage and then 400 F. for 5 minutes 10 seconds in the second stage and finally 430 F. for 1 minute and 10 seconds in the third stage. This series starts off looking corny but after about 60 pages you'll fall in love with it. My wife and partner Carline did and couldn't wait for the new one to go into paper back so we now have it in hard cover. We give it two thumbs up!

<iframe src="http://rcm-ca.amazon.ca/e/cm?t=sacredkcom-20&o=15&p=8&l=as1&asins=0060572965&fc1=520800&IS2=1<1=_blank&lc1=CE6B10&bc1=000000&bg1=DECEA5&f=ifr&nou=1" style="width: 120px; height: 240px;" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"> <iframe src="http://rcm-ca.amazon.ca/e/cm?t=sacredkcom-20&o=15&p=8&l=as1&asins=0060572973&fc1=520800&IS2=1<1=_blank&lc1=CE6B10&bc1=000000&bg1=DECEA5&f=ifr&nou=1" style="width: 120px; height: 240px;" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"> <iframe src="http://rcm-ca.amazon.ca/e/cm?t=sacredkcom-20&o=15&p=8&l=as1&asins=006057299X&fc1=520800&IS2=1<1=_blank&lc1=CE6B10&bc1=000000&bg1=DECEA5&f=ifr&nou=1" style="width: 120px; height: 240px;" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"> <iframe src="http://rcm-ca.amazon.ca/e/cm?t=sacredkcom-20&o=15&p=8&l=as1&asins=0060788194&fc1=520800&IS2=1<1=_blank&lc1=CE6B10&bc1=000000&bg1=DECEA5&f=ifr&nou=1" style="width: 120px; height: 240px;" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"> <iframe src="http://rcm-ca.amazon.ca/e/cm?t=sacredkcom-20&o=15&p=8&l=as1&asins=0060788380&fc1=520800&IS2=1<1=_blank&lc1=CE6B10&bc1=000000&bg1=DECEA5&f=ifr&nou=1" style="width: 120px; height: 240px;" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0" scrolling="no">

Rachel Morgan is a runner with the Inderland Runner Services, apprehending law-breakers throughout Cincinnati. He was 2 years 7 months old. A good life for a rat. He had a nice home and a family that loved him and cared for him. He will be missed.

Finneaghan

Since the boys, and one in particular, missed Finneaghan so much we got two new boy rats today to make the loss easier but no less tragic. They are only two months old and rats live on average 2 to 3 years at most so we're hopeful that we'll have these guys for a while.
----
Society has always seemed to demand a little more from human beings than it will get in practice.

They asked me to see my doctor and get a medical update on my condition so they can either work to get me back on the job or continue my sick leave. Without this completed form from my doctor my sick leave would be terminated and I would be expected to return to work.

Well for obvious reasons I can not return to work as I still have constant headaches ranging from mild to severe all day long. I still nap every afternoon for at least 45 minutes to rest my neck, to relieve the headache and neck pain. I am functional for a couple of hours at a time but not more than three doing mild tasks to only one hour doing active tasks. Even sitting at the computer for more than an hour or two is too much.

To be honest with myself and my family I don't have the energy to continue this battle, going after WSIB (a waste of time) or chasing down my surgeon for medical reports (with no reply), so I have resigned my position at the Royal Ottawa Hospital as of this week. It's been three years since I was injured on the job and I am tired of all of this and frustrated and angry. The sooner I put it to rest the better for me.

So I am now officially at home, taking care of the boys, working on our online store for several hours a week and making the best of life.

When the world hands you lemons, make lemonade...
----
Society has always seemed to demand a little more from human beings than it will get in practice.

I am at my wits end!

This company has been trying their hardest to sell me HYDRO. I don't want to buy my HYDRO from them and they won't take no for an answer. I have had them call at least 20 times and told them to take us off the list. I have had mail sent to me at home. I have even had them drive into my drive and up the walkway to get me to change my mind. Is there no limit?

I have threatened to press charges of harassment to no avail. They just keep coming.

Direct Energy is like having shit stuck to the hair on your ass.

---
Society has always seemed to demand a little more from human beings than it will get in practice.

Not as a challenge to anyone but more for an existentialist type discussion. Some of the questions that came up and thoughts that were provoked were quite interesting.

If we stop worshipping the Gods, will they cease to exist?

If we didn't exist as a people, would the Gods exist?

If the Gods didn't exist would we exist?

Sort of a Symbiotic relationship was developing here.

Are all Gods one God (just different facets to different peoples of the Earth) or are they individual Gods.

Is it better to worship an individual Deity (facet) than a generic lord or lady, Universal Energy? Do you get better results, attention from Deity if you're specific? Sort of direct line to Deity rather than a general call for help to the Universe.

Nothing really new and no real answer here, just lots of food for thought...

Something that I brought up during all this discussion too was that we sometimes feel that there is something spiritually lacking in life. Is it possible that if you don't worship Deity, the Gods, that the magick in your life dissipates? I mean, if there is that symbiotic relationship with Deity, and if worshipping Deity gives the Gods power and therefore magick to manifest change in your life, then it follows that if you stop worshipping then the power to bring magick into your life and manifest changes isn't there.

More fodder...
Society has always seemed to demand a little more from human beings than it will get in practice.
